More about Giovanni
Before Serebro Health I served thirteen years in the Canadian Armed Forces, releasing as a Captain in 2026. I spent the first five as an Air Weapons Systems Technician on CF-18s at Cold Lake, then commissioned through UTP-NCM in 2018 and retrained as a finance officer. My finance postings included 2 Canadian Air Division, Deputy Comptroller at Canadian Forces Recruiting Group, and Comptroller at a specialized unit within CANSOFCOM (Canadian Special Operations Forces Command).
A comptroller is accountable for whether an organization's money, authorities, and obligations line up: budgets, financial governance, compliance, collective agreements, and the reporting that proves it holds. At Serebro Health, finance is just one part of it. I'm responsible for the people side including the hiring, compensation structure, and the terms our clinicians work under. I run technology and systems, privacy and records, procurement and vendor management, our contract agreements, and the clinic space. Where the practice goes next is a decision Alisa and I make together: what we build, where we open, and how it gets funded.
I hold an Honours Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance with a minor in Legal Studies from Nipissing University, and hold my CPA (Chartered Professional Accountant) designation. I'm also a founding partner at Serebro Group and a co-founder of the Serebro Foundation, a national nonprofit supporting Canadian military families.
